History
The 2005–06 season was a historic milestone for the Guildford Flames, as they transitioned into the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) and instantly captured the league championship title. Following the sudden collapse of the British National League (BNL), the Surrey-based club had to rapidly adapt to a lower-tier structure with stricter import limits. Under the continuing leadership of head coach Stan Marple, they completely dominated their new league environment.
Patrick "Ricky" Skene (born 27 April 1982) played for 16 seasons in the United Kingdom, capturing eight championships. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he holds dual British and American nationality and represented England internationally from the U12 to U20 levels.
